David Horst is an expert in color theory and lighting design — and he's also my husband. The domain was secured years ago with a simple idea: there are homeowners everywhere who renovate their own homes but make terrible color and lighting decisions because they don't understand the basic principles of hues, shades, temperature, and how light interacts with space.
The challenge wasn't complexity — it was simplicity. How do you create a professional web presence for a focused consulting service that doesn't need ten pages, a blog, and a full content strategy? Sometimes a business just needs to exist online, cleanly and credibly.
The Solution
A single-page website was built in one day. No multi-page architecture. No CMS. Just a clean, hand-coded page with anchor navigation that scrolls smoothly between sections — services, approach, and contact.
The copy positions David as the accessible alternative to hiring a full interior design firm. Homeowners still get to execute their own renovation, but they consult with a trained, educated design expert on the decisions that matter most: paint colors, lighting fixtures, material pairings, and spatial balance.
David works alongside Keith Roberti at Keith Roberti Design, so the positioning was intentional — a distinct, complementary service: expert consultation without the full design-build commitment.
The Result
This project is proof that not every business needs a $5,000 website. Sometimes a single page, built well, is enough to establish credibility and start conversations.
